Manuela Waldner becomes new CFO of ÖBB (Vienna, March 28, 2023) At its meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of ÖBB-Holding AG appointed Manuela Waldner (42) to the Management Board with effect from July 1, 2023 for a period of 5 years. She succeeds Arnold Schiefer, who will leave the Management Board of ÖBB Holding at his own request at the end of June 2023.    Waldner is currently a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group Austria. With a degree in business administration, she is an expert in the digital transformation, greentech and mobility sectors and has in-depth financial management experience. She was able to assert herself from a very broad group of applicants with her expertise and experience and was clearly convincing in the hearing.  Andrea Reithmayer, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board: "I am delighted that with Manuela Waldner we have been able to attract an experienced manager with proven expertise in the rail sector and in digital transformation. At the same time, I would like to thank long-time CFO Arnold Schiefer and wish him the very best for his future career."   Manuela Waldner started her career after graduating from a HTL for civil engineering and studying business administration in Graz and Krakow as a technician for bridge and tunnel construction projects. She moved to KPMG Transaction Services and specialized there in M&A projects and company valuations in various industries (aviation, energy and manufacturing) in addition to auditing mandates. Her further career path led her to the consulting group Boston Consulting Group in 2009, where she rose to become Managing Director and Partner and Managing Director of the Vienna office in 2019.   ÖBB is the largest mobility company in Austria, with around 42,000 employees, over 400 million rail and bus passengers, and 90 million tons of freight transported each year.
